If you're new to Pilates, here are five key tips to keep in mind for a successful and enjoyable experience.
Don't be afraid to tell us you're new to Pilates! Communicate with me, your instructor, and let me know you're a beginner. I can provide you with the necessary modifications and cues to help you get the most out of each exercise.
Ask for modifications whenever you're struggling. Listen to your body and ask for modifications when needed. I can offer alternative movements that suit your fitness level or accommodate any physical limitations.
Take a few private sessions to practice proper breathing and basic principles. Book private sessions with me to focus on breath work, core engagement, and mastering the foundational movements. This will provide a solid foundation and boost your confidence before joining my group classes.
Consistency is key. Attend my classes regularly and establish a consistent practice schedule. Aim for a sustainable routine that works for you, whether it's two to three classes per week or more. Consistency allows your body to adapt and progress.
Slow down, feel your muscles. Focus on slow and controlled movements. Connect with your muscles and engage the correct muscle groups. Avoid rushing or relying on momentum. By being present in the moment, you'll enhance your mind-body connection and maximize the effectiveness of each exercise.
As you begin your Pilates journey, remember to communicate with me, ask for modifications, consider private sessions, prioritize consistency, and focus on slow and controlled movements.
Enjoy the transformative power of Pilates and embrace the positive changes it can bring to your body and mind.
See you soon in the studio!

Daisy
